TPA Verbal
An Android app for practising the verbal section of Indonesia's academic aptitude test (TPA) — synonyms, antonyms, word relationships, and odd-one-out — with study notes and a bundled KBBI dictionary, all offline and account-free.
Free · No account · Works offline

Problem
Preparing for the TPA — Indonesia's academic aptitude test used for civil service exams, university admission, job screening, and graduate school — usually means a thick workbook or a site that needs a connection. Yet the verbal section is best drilled in short, frequent sessions, straight from a phone.
Solution
Built a lightweight Android app for verbal TPA practice that works offline: four question categories with automatic scoring, study notes explaining each one, and a 21,075-entry KBBI dictionary shipped inside the app. No sign-up, no server — every question, score, and bit of progress stays on the device.
How it plays out on screen
Read the notes first, sit the practice set like the real exam, then see the score and the full explanations at the end.

The app is written natively in Kotlin with Jetpack Compose. Every question, study note, and dictionary entry is bundled as a JSON asset inside the APK, and scores and progress are kept locally through DataStore — no server, no login, and no user data leaving the phone. The only third-party component is Google AdMob, which serves the ads.
The decision that shaped it most was separating scoring from practice. While a set is in progress there is no right-or-wrong feedback at all — picking an answer only locks it in — because green-and-red marks mid-exam leak the answer and turn practice into guesswork. The score appears only at the end, and the per-question explanations sit one screen further on.
The app’s privacy policy lives on its own page.
