Problem
Most worship-tracking apps require an account, send data to a server, and are cluttered with ads — when what people actually need is a simple way to start a consistent daily worship habit. And once a single day goes unlogged, the streak breaks and the motivation goes with it.
Solution
Built a native Android app (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose) with a daily worship checklist, accurate prayer schedules (GPS or a chosen city), a 114-chapter digital Quran with tajweed colours and recitation, a qibla compass, a Hijri calendar that marks sunnah fasting days, and streaks and heatmaps for progress. Missed days can be filled in up to a week back, with an optional 2FA lock so a parent approves changes on a child's phone. Everything lives in an on-device SQLite database: no accounts, server, ads, or trackers.

Istiqomah is built around the atomic-habits approach: start small, track effortlessly, watch progress grow. Privacy is the core design constraint — there’s no login flow and no data ever leaves the device. The internet is only used to download other translation languages and to stream recitation audio.
Version 1.1 added shortcuts on the home screen, filling in missed days with an optional parental 2FA lock, and a sunnah prayer du’a category.
