Privacy Policy — Istiqomah: Atomic Habit

This privacy policy applies to the Istiqomah: Atomic Habit app (com.istiqomah.atomichabit), developed and published by Heri Kiswanto ("we", "us") on Google Play and the App Store. It explains what data is processed when you use the app, who processes it, and what choices you have.

Summary

• The app has no accounts and no server. None of your personal data is sent to us.
• Every worship record you keep stays on your own device only.
• GPS location is processed on-device to compute prayer times and the qibla direction — the coordinates never leave your device.
• There are no ads, no analytics SDKs, and no third-party trackers.
• The only network call is fetching Quran translations from a public service, and only when you pick a translation language other than Indonesian.

Data we collect

None. We do not request, collect, store, transmit, sell, or share your personal data with anyone — simply because we have no server to store it on. There is no sign-up, no login, and no sync between devices.

Data stored on your device

To do its job, the app stores some data in a local database (SQLite) in your device's internal storage:

• Profile — the nickname, level, worship focus, and city name you chose or that was detected. Used to personalise your worship checklist.
• Worship records — prayer check-offs, your Quran reading position, bookmarks, optional-fasting notes, habits (dhikr, optional prayers, and so on), and "excused day" markers. Used for the daily checklist and for your own statistics.
• App preferences — the prayer-time calculation method, reminder settings, and display preferences.

Data on one device is never sent to another device or to any server. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all of it.

Location

If you allow it, the app reads your precise (GPS) location to compute prayer times and the qibla direction. That calculation runs entirely on the device using a local astronomy library — your GPS coordinates never leave the device and are not sent to any service. Only the resulting city name is stored in your local profile.

The location permission is optional. You can decline it and still use the app by picking a city manually.

Network communication

The app makes one kind of network call: fetching Quran text and translations from the third-party service api.alquran.cloud when you pick a translation language other than Indonesian. The Arabic text, the Indonesian translation, and colour-coded tajweed all ship inside the app and work with no internet connection.

Those requests contain only a chapter number and a language code. No personal data or identifier of yours is sent, and nothing in the request can be linked back to you.

What we don't do

• There are no ads and no third-party analytics trackers in the app.
• Your worship records are private — there are no social features, leaderboards, or publishing.
• There are no push notifications from a server. Prayer-time, fasting, and daily reminders are all scheduled and fired locally on your device.
• There are no in-app purchases and no subscriptions.

Permissions the app requests

• Location — for prayer times and qibla direction, processed on-device. Optional; a manual city-picker mode is available.
• Notifications — for adhan, optional-fasting, and daily reminders, all scheduled locally.
• Exact alarms — so that adhan reminders fire at the right moment.

Deleting your data

Because everything is stored locally, you are fully in control: delete items from inside the app (a habit or a bookmark, for example), or uninstall the app to remove everything at once. We keep no copy anywhere outside your device, so there is no "server-side deletion request" for you to file with us.

Children

The app is general-audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not collect children's data — we do not collect anyone's data on a server.

Security

Because the app sends no personal data to any server, none of your data can leak from our side. Data stored on the device is protected by the operating system's security model, which isolates each app's storage.

Changes to this policy

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time, for example when app features change. The latest version is always published on this page with a new update date.
